10 years later ... We will never forget

Most of our fifth graders were born in 2001.  They never got to see the Twin Towers in person.  It is hard to believe they are in fifth grade, but it also so hard to imagine that 10 years ago today the Twin Towers fell.  People from our neighborhood were lost.  People from our neighborhood were first responders.  People from our neighborhood will never forget.

STOP & SHOP Cards - Please Register

We all know that we have a Super Stop & Shop right in our own backyard !! Stop & Shop has a great program, in which they give money to schools.  All you (and your family & friends) have to do is register your customer card every year and designate a school.  You can choose GW, Chestnut or Cornwell.  At the end of each year, each school receives a check form Stop & Shop.  They give a certain percentage based on your purchases and believe me it adds up !!  So, have your friends and family who don't have children in the schools register their cards too to help YOUR children's school to earn some extra money and it is FREE !!!  Please go to www.stopandshop.com/aplus  THAT'S IT - yes I know it is hard to believe, but it really is that simple.  You must re-register each year but it only takes a few minutes.  Thank you very much in advance for the monies that will be raised for our children.

First Day back ..

So today seemed to go pretty well.  Everyone at all the schools looked like they were happy to be back!!  We know the staff at all three schools were happy to see the kids back in action.  The fifth graders are starting their last year of elementary school and they look so mature in their new roles.  The littlest newcomers to Chestnut Street have a lot ahead of them !!
Congratulations to Mr. Rehman on his new position in the High School, we hope HE had a great first day !! Although he will be missed terribly at Chestnut Street, he is a great addition to the High School.

Welcome back each and every student and staff member, we are looking forward to a GREAT 2011-2012 school year !!!
